Statement of Faith
We, at Heritage Christian Tutorial, hold to the following fundamental beliefs based on the teachings of the Bible. We affirm that Scripture is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and it is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. Our understanding of the world and our lives is rooted in the belief that God’s Word provides the truth we need to understand our purpose, identity, and mission.
We commit to living out these Biblical truths, guiding our families and communities in the grace and truth of Jesus Christ, and educating children to reflect His glory in every area of life.
01
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the final authority in all matters of faith, life, and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
04
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is present and active in the world today. He convicts people of sin, enables believers to live godly lives, equips them for service, and guides them into all truth. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9)
07
The Return of Christ
We believe in the imminent, literal return of Jesus Christ to earth. He will return to judge the living and the dead and establish His eternal Kingdom. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 21:1-4)
10
Christian Living
We believe that Christians are called to live lives that honor God in all things. This includes loving others, seeking justice, living with integrity, and proclaiming the gospel to all people. We strive to reflect Christ in our attitudes, words, and actions. (Romans 12:1-2; Matthew 5:14-16; Colossians 3:17)
02
God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things, sovereign over the universe, and personal in His relationship with humanity. (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3)
05
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received by faith alone in the person and work of Jesus Christ. It is not by works, but by grace through faith, that we are reconciled to God. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12)
08
The Family
We believe that marriage and the family are foundational to God’s creation. Marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman, and the family is to be a place where love, discipline, and Biblical truth are passed on to the next generation. (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33; Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
03
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day. His death and resurrection provide the only means of salvation for humanity. (John 1:14; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
06
The Church
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers, called to worship God, spread the gospel, and serve others. The Church is to be a reflection of Christ’s love and truth in the world. (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11-13)
09
The Sanctity of Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created in the image of God. From conception to natural death, every life has inherent dignity and value. (Psalm 139:13-16; Genesis 1:27; Jeremiah 1:5)
